Gillingham Press Company Ltd

Digital printing

Digital printing at Gillingham Press has just got a whole lot better with the installation of a Xerox Docucolor 240. This digital printing machine is the market leader in SRA3 digital printing technology with its unequalled high colour resolution and printing quality.  Now you can receive unsurpassed quality, speed and productivity that cannot be matched on a like for like basis.  The most discerning of customers will be impressed with the rich, deep, true-to-life colours, precise registration and the professional uniform glossy finish and at a speed to satisfy any print-on-demand requirements.

Digital printing gives our customers the option of ordering smaller quantities that would just not be cost effective using other production methods and this reduces production expenditure.  The digital printing process eliminates costs that would otherwise be incurred in the production of printing plates, the printing machine make ready and the materials to prepare for printing.

Using a Fiery Network Colour Server to control the Xerox Docucolor 240, we can provide the ultimate in printing flexibility. Full electronic imposition is available to produce multiple printing or booklets from single page PDF files.  If that wasn't enough, the DC 240 can also collate, fold, stabstitch, saddlestitch and hole punch as it prints.....

Our preferred file format is PDF (Portable Document Format), however, we can also accept Indesign files v2.1 (Mac), Pagemaker v6.5 (Mac), Illustrator v5 (Mac), Photoshop v6 (Mac), Word 2000 files (Mac/PC), Excel files (Mac/PC), MS Publisher 2000 files (PC), JPEG and TIFF files.  Please contact us to discuss the use of any other software file formats.

Printing stock size is from A6 (105 x 148mm) up to SRA3 size (320 x 450mm -ie. A3 size plus colour bleed) on grammages of 64 gsm paper up to 300gsm board weights.  Suitable quantities range from a single sheet up to quantity of about 500 sheets, determined by a comparison of costs with litho printing.  Printing resolution is an unmatched 2400dpi at the highest print quality setting.

Just in case we get really busy, a Xerox Docucolour 3535 with a Creo Network Colour Server provides additional support capacity.

Should you require any digitally printed samples or advance proofs of your artwork, please do not hesitate to contact us.  You won't be disappointed.
